We’ve had some awesome kids come out and play over the years and it’s sad that it’s time to move up, but we do look forward to a stronger program for the U-16 group. Thank you to all of the families and players who have been a part!!!

On another note, we are looking for experienced soccer players for our new U-16 team.  We are trying to play as a traveling recreational team for the fall and will also have indoor sessions as well.  If you are interested, please contact me at (405) 761-5922 ASAP to let me know so I can plan accordingly.  There should be new details available for our future soccer activities this week and if you want to see opportunities for the younger kids, please consider getting involved — we need your help and commitment!

We will play our first game this Thursday (June 10th) at 5:25 p.m. Please be sure to wear your orange shirt, have your shin guards, have paid your dues, and had your player’s card made.  Be at the field at least 15 minutes prior to game time.

So no practice for June 3rd and the first game should be the following week.

The season will begin the following week.

OUTDOOR practices will be held on Thursday’s from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. until the season begins at the Mustang North Middle School field at 10901 Southwest 15th Street in Yukon.

Indoor Practice will be every Monday, starting May 24th, unless we have a game on that night.

• INDOOR practice will be held on Monday’s from 4:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Indoor Soccer Arena.

• The Indoor Soccer Arena (ISA) is located at 100 N. McCormick, OKC, OK 73127.  Visit their website at http://www.letsplaysoccer.com/main/locations/oklahoma-north/

• Players MUST bring a #4 soccer ball, water, and shinguards to each practice or disciplinary measures such as additional running to setting out will be taken.

• Practices will be canceled in the event of bad weather.

If your child would like to play for us this session, I will need a verbal commitment from you by then.  All registration fees must be turned in by May 20th.

We currently have seven players who are on our roster and we still need 6 or 7 more to field the team due to summer vacations and players being gone.  If you want to play, please call James Dalman by Monday at noon to let me know.

As for practices: we will not hold a practice on Monday or Thursday unless I know we have a full team, so please be sure to check before making the drive.

Player’s born between the dates of 8/1/95 and 7/31/96 qualify for this age group.

DEADLINE:

You must commit to play by May 17th.  All fees will need to be turned in and paid by the end of the first two practices on May 17th or May 20th.

TRYOUTS:

There will be no tryouts for this summer recreational team but all previous F.C. United and experienced soccer players will have priority for the available spots we have available on our team.

COST:

The cost is $60.00 per player for the season and includes all the fees for players, referee’s, and practice field rental.

Please be there on time and have your child bring water, shingurads, and a soccer ball.  I will let all players know who is on the team by Friday evening or sooner.

Our first game will take place next week and our first practice will be held on Monday, June 8th at the Westside Soccer field (weather permitting) at 6:30 p.m.

We’ve played some difficult games so far with the teams even stronger than last season.  Team Barcelona was really impressive from a team perspective but also in their sportsmanship.  We lost that game 15-2 but they showed some great class by taking off players and not gloating as many teams do when they crush a weaker, less experienced team.  Our last two games were much closer and could have been in our favor but we did not play well against Elk City and Tacos Casa edged us out with a 5 – 4 victory.

It is always hard to remember that we have a really young team with a broad range of experience.  Some of our players are really starting to flourish and geting in their zone which is exciting to see!  We just have to keep focused on the basics and we will steadily improve with time.
